Aamir Khan is extensively promoting his film Sitaare Zameen Par releasing 20 June. It has Genelia D’Souza in lead role alongside Aamir, and features children with disabilities in a sports drama.
It is being marketed as a spiritual sequel of Taare Zameen Par and fans are expecting Darsheel Safary to make a cameo in this film as well. It was noticed by fans that during promotions, Aamir is being targeted by media persons with personal questions about his patriotism.

He shared that he does not need to probe his integrity to anyone. He said that he has done a lot of work for the nation, there is no actor in comparison who has worked so much for the welfare of his country.
He shared that he has funded many NGOs and made shows like Satyamev Jayate. Even his films are centered around social issues and try to bring positive change in the world.

However, fans felt that this was just a PR technique to clear his image.
He has come under target for his religiosity and promoting betting apps. This might affect the collection of his films so he is trying to create a positive image.
