Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par is all set to arrive in theatres on June 20, 2025. As per the latest updates, 3000 to 3500 screens have been reportedly locked throughout India for the upcoming film.
The initial plan was to release the film in only 1000 or 1500 screens across India and increase the count in case the film receives a positive response, leading to more demand.

Aamir has not sold the rights of the film to anyone until now, and the superstar wants people to enjoy the film only on the big screen.
Sony Pictures was initially involved with SZP, and Aamir reportedly paid Rs. 30 crores to the company to leave the film. This was because Sony was not satisfied with the fact that Aamir decided to keep the experience of the film restricted to only theatres in the beginning.

It looks like Aamir is not willing to compromise this time in any manner. As a producer of the film, Aamir has undoubtedly taken the best step by not approaching any OTT platform before the release of SZP.
This also means that maybe for the first time, we would get to see real collections without any inflation. The response will be real, and even if the film flops, there won’t be any kind of criticism.
On the other hand, the film still has pressure to create a box office record, considering the stardom of Aamir Khan and his failure to deliver hits or blockbusters over the last few years.
Let’s wait until the advance booking opens to get a possible answer in terms of the box office collections.
