Akshay Kumar’s Kesari 2 teaser made a huge mark with its power-packed storytelling and hard-hitting visuals, venturing into the post-Jallianwala Bagh massacre scenario. With Akshay playing the role of Sir C. Sankaran Nair, the gallant lawyer who defied the British regime, the teaser announces an intense opening.
Nevertheless, though the movie seems to promise much, the theatrical success is far from confirmed. Historical movies tend to flop at the cinemas since people usually prefer viewing content of this kind on OTT platforms.

Akshay’s last patriotic movie, Sky Force, was appreciated in terms of story but flopped at the box office. Though it did bring back some goodwill for the actor, Kesari 2 now has the burden of both audience expectation and box office success.
With very little hype among general audiences and little awareness, the movie’s success may largely rely on good reviews and word of mouth.

Strategically, Kesari 2 is important for Akshay as it bridges his shift from historical dramas to a comedy-laden phase with movies like Housefull 5 and Hera Pheri 3.
If it does well, it will not only cement his versatility but also put the right momentum on his next big-ticket releases. The question remains—can it draw people to cinemas? Only time will tell.
