Andaz Apna Apna released in 1994 stars Aamir Khan and Salman Khan in an iconic rom-com much loved by the fans. Interestingly, it was a flop film when it was released back then and later acquired a cult status.
It earned around 30 lakhs back on its opening day when it was released in 1994. It’s life time collections were around 5 crores. It was a huge box office flop.

This box office curse does not seem to have broken because even in its re-release it could hardly collect 20 lakhs on its opening day which is less than its first day 30 years ago. There is not much hope, and the film’s re-release collections might struggle to cross even 1 crore.
Fans are speculating that this is probably because most people have watched this film a number of times at home and don’t really feel it’s theatre worthy. This goes to show that a film can be much loved and still not perform well.

There are also reports that Andaz Apna Apna 2 is being speculated by fans in which Ranbir Kapoor will team up with Aamir Khan to cater to the current generation. Salman might not have a major role in the film, but fans really want to see him share screens with Aamir, but the low reception of the re-release makes the hype around it fall down.
