In an interview with Komal Nahta on Game Changers, Tiwari was asked to choose between directing Animal Park or Mirzapur 4.
He chose Animal Park calling it the “more tempting” option—mainly because of Ranbir Kapoor. But this was just a fun rapid fire question and not actually asking him to take over the project.

He said, “I am choosing the better, more tempting, which allows me to get greater performances out and get to work with somebody who’s very dear to me, Ranbir.”
This has led to talk about whether he can bring his storytelling style to the violent world of Animal.

Animal Park the sequel to the 2023 blockbuster Animal is going to be darker and more intense.
Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga has already confirmed his vision for the film which will start after he completes Spirit.
Some speculate that the delay might open doors for another director but Vanga is still fully committed to the project.
Tiwari’s strength lies in emotional dramas whereas Vanga is known for raw brutality. If Tiwari ever directed Animal Park it would be a different film altogether.
Fans are divided—some welcome the idea of a fresh take while others believe only Vanga can maintain the franchise’s intensity.
At this point Animal Park is still Vanga’s film and Tiwari’s statement was just a fun answer.
But the discussion has raised an interesting question—can a director like Tiwari ever direct a dark violent film like Animal Park? In Bollywood, surprises are always around the corner.
