A new film titled Operation Sindoor has dropped and it’s already making waves online.
Inspired by India’s recent military response to the Pahalgam terror attack, the film is being produced by Nicky Vicky Bhagnani Films and The Content Engineer. But is it a patriotic tribute or too soon?

The film is based on the real life operation carried out by Indian Armed Forces on May 6-7, days after the terror attack in Kashmir.
The operation targeted 9 terror bases in Pakistan and PoK. The title Sindoor is symbolic – sacrifice, marriage and warrior spirit.

The poster has a female soldier in uniform, holding a rifle, applying sindoor on her forehead.
Behind her: tanks, fighter jets, barbed wire and smoke. The title has a blood red smear on one letter, with bold patriotic slogans in the background. It’s dramatic and designed to evoke emotion.

But not everyone is buying it. The announcement has been met with severe backlash on social media.
Many are calling out the makers for exploiting tragedy. People are questioning the timing, saying it feels like the film was greenlit too soon after the lives lost.
Comments like “no respect for the dead” and “is everything about profit now?” are flooding platforms like X and Instagram.
The cast hasn’t been announced yet and the film is directed by Uttam Maheshwari. The producers have previously worked on thrillers like Nikita Roy, this time they’ve gone into real life conflict and emotions are running high.
Whether Operation Sindoor turns out to be a respectful or a controversy, one thing is for sure – the conversation has begun and the audience is watching.
