Namit Malhotra, the film’s producer, announced that the two-part epic will be released on Diwali 2026 and Diwali 2027. He also shared the first promotional poster of the film via social media, which just had his name along with the director, Nitesh Tiwari.
While the producer’s lifelong dream to make this film has been realized, the industry has already seen many retellings of the Ramayana on the big screen. Adipurush was just the latest big-budget adaptation, which turned out to be a disaster show for the audience and the makers.

Many other films, like Singham Again, are also inspired by Ramayana or borrow elements from the classic tale of “Good vs Evil.” Yet, every few years, the industry chucks out another adaptation of the epic targeting the Hindu audience.
Some users also compared the color grading on the poster to that of Adipurush, which was a huge disappointment. People have high hopes for this new adaptation but these early signs don’t offer much promise.
