Bollywood had been struggling to deliver proper box office hits in the recent past. The last superstar film from Bollywood is Sky Force and it wasn’t a viable box office venture.
Now, the stage is set for the release of Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava which is releasing in theatres tomorrow, February 14. The advance bookings have opened already and they are going on at a pretty decent pace.

Chhaava is a film based on legendary warrior king Chatrapathi Sivaji and it comes with natural affiliation with the Hindutva sentiment. This strong Hindu sentiment could very well promote the film.
The trailer looked very promising and also, the production values looked very strong for the film. It certainly has the grandeur to pull the masses to the theatres.

Though there isn’t too much going for the film in South Indian states, it is likely to carve a niche in the Maratha belt. In particular, Maharashtra, and more importantly, Mumbai could absolutely shake with the arrival of this film. Such is the Sivaji sentiment in these mass belts.
With adequate grandeur, and rich making values, there is a lot to look forward to for this film in box office terms. If we add the Hindutva sentiment to the equation, then we have the recipe for a blockbuster.

But for now, the focus will be on whether or not it can appease the opening day audience as a strong word of mouth is crucial for a film like this.
If this film can touch the Rs 300 crore mark at the global box office, then it would provide much needed box office impetus for the film.
