Javed Akhtar, the renowned lyricist and scriptwriter, didn’t hold back in his remarks amidst the rising tensions between India and Pakistan following the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor.
He stated that if given a choice between going to hell or visiting the neighboring country, he’d rather choose hell.

Speaking at a recent book event, Javed Akhtar stated how he often deals with certain trolls and abuse from numerous people regarding his views.
The veteran lyricist stated that he often receives several hate comments from Indians regarding how his views should not be entertained in India, and he should leave this country.

He further added how people call him Jihadi while several Pakistanis call him disloyal to his religion and also curse him to rot in hell.
“One side tells me you are a ‘kaafir’ and you will go to ‘jahannum’ (hell) and the other side says you are a jihadi and should go to Pakistan” said Javed Akhtar.

Making his decision and showing patriotism, the legendary lyricist stated “Now, if these are my only two choices, I would prefer to go to hell…”.
