Sunny Deol was among the famous squad of actors who acted in the patriotic film Border. Its song ‘Sandese Aate Hain’ still fills our hearts with emotions and pride whenever it plays.
In the midst of the current escalations between India and Pakistan, the actor has made a decision regarding one of his films.

Reportedly, SunnyDeol wants his upcoming film Border 2, a sequel to the 1997 film, to be released before another film Lahore 1947. The latter is produced by Aamir Khan and directed by Rajkumar Santoshi.
It is believed that the story of Lahore 1947 is not aligned with India’s current mood. Instead, it discusses peace between India and Pakistan. This has prompted Sunny into deciding that Border 2 must hit the cinemas before Lahore 1947.

A few also believe that Border 2 has the right elements that can encash the current emotions of Indians against Pakistan. If all goes well, the film also has a potential of becoming a bigger hit than Gadar 2.
Sunny Deol’s earlier release, Jaat, was an underperformer. So, the actor is definitely craving for his next release to be a hit. This may not be possible with the sentiments highlighted by Lahore 1947. Hence, the actor wants Border 2 to be released into the theaters.

Reportedly, the film will be released on Republic Day 2026. Whether it can evoke the same emotions in the audience like its predecessor remains a question now.
