It’s been more than a week since Sunny Deol’s Jaat was released in theatres. The action-drama opened to a decent response at the box office, and director Gopichand Malineni has now spoken up about the film in a recent interview.
Gopichand recalled the time when he visited a few theatres in North India for the first time at places such as Meerut and Haryana. He said that he was happy with the way people responded to the film and were screaming in certain sequences, including Sunny’s dialogue, “Sorry bol.”

Gopichand mentioned that it is not easy to use certain storylines for a film where the main character continues demanding an apology until the interval point. He said that he decided to prepare an engaging screenplay and add some lighter moments to hold the attention of everyone.
Malineni added that Sunny Deol was the only choice for him, and he did not think of anyone else for the lead role of Jaat. He said that he was following a simple process where there would be more action and less talking.

He additionally spoke up on Upendra Limaye’s casting, saying that he was impressed with the actor’s voice and vibe.
Gopichand stated that although Upendra questioned him about the reason behind giving him only one scene, Malineni continued approaching Upendra since he felt that his scene was necessary for the hero’s elevation before the climax.

He addressed the release of the film’s Telugu version, saying that they are working to release it in a few weeks and it is taking time since they need the right person to do the dubbing.
However, the success of Jaat’s Telugu version still remains a big question since big films are scheduled to arrive in the upcoming weeks and in this situation, the Telugu version might get ignored.
While Jaat has not emerged as a big blockbuster, it has opened the door for Gopichand Malineni and Mythri Movie Makers to work on better projects with more popular faces. Let’s wait for a new update from Mythri about their next Hindi film.
