Pushpa 2: The Rule has taken the Hindi box office by storm. It marks the biggest opening in recent times surpassing even major 2023 blockbusters and Stree 2.
The noon shows in single screens across the Hindi heartland selling out completely. It’s now the third film to achieve such a feat post-pandemic, joining KGF 2 and Gadar 2.

East Punjab, which had KGF 2’s record-breaking opening on Baisakhi, may not see the same level of opening. Delhi and UP are expected to set records as well.
By the afternoon of the opening day, major chains like PVR Inox and Cinepolis had grossed Rs 21 crore, with final numbers expected to reach Rs 26.5 to 28.5 crore.

With a share from national chains likely to account for 38% of the total, Pushpa 2 could hit Rs 65 crore, making it the biggest non-holiday opener in history by beating Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan.
The film has already broken Pathaan’s first-day record of Rs 55.75 crore. It also holds the record for the highest opening of a South-dubbed film in Hindi, overtaking KGF 2’s Rs 52.4 crore.
This tremendous opening is especially impressive given the non-holiday release on a Thursday.
The immense craze surrounding Pushpa 2 has been built through its strong satellite reach. Pushpa character has strongly resonated with the male mass audience which has contributed significantly to its box office numbers.
Despite a limited South release for the Hindi version, Pushpa 2 Hindi’s massive performance in the Northern belts is expected to make up for it.
