Salman has delivered 17 films in the ₹100 crore club in last 15 years and Sikandar will join that list with ease. But in today’s box office climate ₹100 crore is not enough for a superstar of his stature.
Trade analysts say if Sikandar needs to be a genuine success it needs to cross ₹300 crore in India. Anything less would feel underwhelming, especially for an Eid release.

The film is expected to open at ₹45-50 crore on its first day but its long run will depend on audience reception.
While the teaser was a record breaker in likes, the full trailer got mixed reactions. If the word-of-mouth isn’t strong even ₹200 crore could be a challenge.

Directed by AR Murugadoss, known for Ghajini and Holiday, Sikandar has the potential to be a full on action entertainer. Murugadoss knows how to blend action with emotions which could work in the film’s favour.
But will it be enough to attract audience beyond Salman’s die hard fans? Post pandemic audiences have become more choosy. Big names don’t guarantee a blockbuster anymore.
If Sikandar delivers a good story it can sustain well in the weeks after its release. If not it will decline sharply after the first weekend.
Last time Salman delivered a ₹300+ crore net film was Bharat in 2019. Since then Bollywood’s box office has changed.
His last film Tiger 3 performed decently but fell short of expectations. Meanwhile Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal have raised the bar.
If Sikandar doesn’t cross ₹200 crore it will raise questions about Salman’s box office dominance.
If it crosses ₹300 crore he reaffirms his position as one of the top stars in Bollywood. But if it goes beyond ₹400 crore it will be a massive statement that Salman Khan is still the undisputed box office king.
