Sara Ali Khan began her Bollywood career on a hopeful note. Her debut in Kedarnath revealed talent and promise, and Simmba was a box office success. However, since then, her career has been largely on the decline.

Inconsistent script selection, lack-lustre performances, and inconsistency have been detrimental to her reputation. Her last release Sky Force was a decent hit at the box office. But Sara’s performance was not appreciated at all.

Also, everybody else found her “boring and fake.” Her character was hardly noticed, and once again, she got overshadowed. Even when she did have a hit like Zara Hatke Zara Bachke, it didn’t make her grow as a star.

She’s in a weird place—getting movies, but not winning over the audience. Her attempts to be relatable, which used to feel new, now feel forced. The constant nepotism talk doesn’t help either.

Many believe she’s in the industry because of her surname, not because she’s worked for it. Sara has conceded that she still has a long way to go as an actor. Her upcoming film Metro. In Dino could be another opportunity, but as things stand today, her career seems stagnant.

However, all one needs is a couple of good films and the right directors to really make someone shine. She has potential—it just needs to be given the right platform to flourish.
