
Mallesham and 8 AM Metro fame Raj Rachakonda has come up with another honest attempt, 23 (Iravai Moodu).
This time, Raj tries to convey a very important message to the society – “Every one is equal before law but some people are more equal”.

He take three real incidents – 1991 Tsunduru Massacre, 1997 Jubilee Hills Car Bomb case, and Chilakaluripeta Bus Torching incident.
While all the three incidents results in similar number of deaths, the accused in the first two walked free because they are from higher caste and influential in the society.

23 is about the Chilakaluripeta Bus Torching incident where the accused are from the less-fortunate strata who commit a crime unintentionally but can not get away from serving a life-term sentence.
Raj Rachakonda says, 23 touches very sensitive point and deals with it very delicately and performances are natural and the setting also suits the mood of the film.

As per the team, the first half deals with the ‘caste discrimination’ but moves into a different zone of jail life in the second.
The filmmaker should be appreciated for attempting a film of this type which does not fit in the regular commercial zone.
Director Raj is consistently doing this without any calculations. He did not get carried away from the repercussions of trying to hard sell such content which deserves an appreciation as per makers of the movie.
