Vishwambhara

Chiranjeevi’s upcoming socio-fantasy thriller Vishwambhara, directed by Vassishta, has already completed its shoot and is now in the post-production phase.

Since the film involves extensive CGI work, the VFX is being handled in both Hyderabad and Hong Kong. However, there have been no official updates from the team so far about the film’s progress.

Initially planned for a Sankranti release, Vishwambhara’s release date has been repeatedly postponed. The film was first rumored to release in March, then April or May, and later August or September. Now, according to sources close to the Mega camp, the film is most likely to hit theaters in June or July.

Another key issue is that the OTT deal for the film has not been finalized yet, and even the satellite rights remain unsold. This is quite unusual for a Chiranjeevi film, as OTT giants usually compete to acquire the rights. The delay in securing these deals has raised curiosity in the industry.

One of the major concerns is that Vishwambhara has not generated strong buzz. The makers have not released any exciting promotional material. The teaser which was released turned troll material and harmed the film’s prospects in a big way.

Unlike Chiranjeevi’s previous films, which locked OTT and satellite deals early, Vishwambhara is yet to find buyers. Generally, films starring big stars get sold to streaming and satellite platforms even before they finish production.

However, there’s a hope that Vishwambhara’s promotional strategy will improve to ensure the film gets the attention it deserves from the audience and also OTT companies.
