
Rajkumar Hirani and Aamir Khan have proved to be deadly together and it was seen in their previous collaborations including PK and 3 Idiots.
The dynamic duo is back again and this time, they will be recreating the life of iconic Dadasaheb Phalke, who is also regarded as the father of Indian Cinema.

After the huge success of PK and 3 Idiots, Rajkumar Hirani and Aamir Khan have agreed to work together to portray the life of the veteran actor with Christmas 2026 as a possible release window for the biopic.
The film is set to begin shooting in October 2025 and will continue through April 2026, with an extensive post-production phase planned afterward.

According to several sources, pre-production work for the still-untitled project is already underway.
The goal is to authentically recreate the era of the 1800s and early 1900s, and pre-visualization work is already in progress.

Several looks have been designed for Aamir Khan, who, true to his perfectionist nature, will also take part in acting workshops to fully embody the role of Dadasaheb Phalke.
For both Aamir and director Rajkumar Hirani, this film is their tribute to the man who laid the foundation for Indian cinema.
While Rajkumar Hirani is eager to make this biopic, renowned filmmaker SS Rajamouli is also aiming to make a biopic on Dadsaheb Phalke featuring Jr NTR titled Made In India.
Though Rajkumar Hirani aims to focus on how Dadasaheb Phalke built the cinema industry in India, SS Rajamouli aims to showcase how the veteran actor built an empire which continues to expand.
Given his impressive projects so far, Rajamouli would love to showcase Dadasaheb Phalke’s career in a visually appealing way building him a larger than life character.
While there are no confirmed dates regarding the project, Jr NTR would love to portray the role and depict one of the all time greats Indian cinema has ever witnessed.
With both veteran filmmakers aiming for a grand biopic, it remains to be seen how the film further pans out to be for both of them and their respective actors.
