Tollywood has been tasting substantial success with big league films of late with the likes of Kalki, Devara and Pushpa 2 setting the box office on fire in recent months.
Coming to the topic, it is a fact that NTR’s Devara is a bigger box office hit than the first part of Pushpa. Numbers wise, Devara 1 collected some 100 crores gross more than Pushpa 1.

In a like for like fight, Devara must punch more than Pushpa 1. In that sense, the sequel for Devara must be more interesting and lucrative than Pushpa’s sequel.
However, the reality is the exact opposite as the second part of Pushpa is going absolutely bonkers at the box office, while there is no talk whatsoever about Devara Part two.

The kind of mass reach and attention that Pushpa 1 is far superior to that of Devara 1 which is the decisive factor here. Collections wise, Devara might be better in terms of sheer numbers, but we must also add inflation and ticket prices to the mix.
Luckily for Pushpa, it could attain a star franchise status due to the Allu Arjun mannerisms and theatrical moments. On the other hand, Devara fizzled out after the OTT release and quite literally no one is bothered about the sequel now.
