
There was once a time when commercial films used to absolutely dominate the Telugu Cinema space. Almost every commercial film used to have a consistent market in Telugu states.
However, that is not even remotely the case now as the audience have completely moved on with their choice when it comes to watching films.

For instance, we have Kiran Abbavaram who earlier delivered a new age attempt in the form of Ka. The film turned out to be a big hit at the box office and breathed life to his otherwise struggling career.
The young actor then came up with his new film Dilruba which released on March 14. The natural expectation is that the momentum built by Ka would help Kiran with this Dilruba and gain prospects for the film.

However, in this case, Dilruba has turned out to be a complete non starter at the box office. The success of Ka had absolutely no say in the verdict of this film.
The very same Telugu audience who encouraged Kiran for Ka have turned blind eye for this Dilruba now. This is again another indication that the audience have clearly started to nurture quality films and there are no two ways about it henceforth.

This isn’t just an individual case of Kiran but instead a point to be noted for the wider section of the young Telugu heroes as well. They must all be aware of the new movie watching habits of the Telugu audience.
It doesn’t mean the audience will only watch one kind of films and that is the only genre they must be nurturing. But the perfect balance of quality content films and well made commercial films is essential here. This is what is needed for the youngsters to sustain with consistency.
