Pushpa 2

We exclusively broke the news about what led Thaman to join a project like Pushpa 2, which is considered a lifetime opportunity for music director Devi Sri Prasad.

This will definitely add to the negative PR surrounding the film, and weeks before the release, no producer in their right mind would want their film in the negative spotlight for a reason like this.

But how serious is this problem? Can Thaman really fill in for DSP and match the same level of BGM quality?

Along with Thaman, a couple of other names are also in circulation, such as Ajaneesh, who composed for Kantara, and Sam CS from Tamil, who recently worked on KA.

In our opinion, if these music directors deliver their best BGM for the blocks they are assigned, it could work out even better.

BGM is not something audiences are looking to maintain with the same tone or consistency from start to finish. All they want is high-energy BGM in action blocks. For the audience, it doesn’t matter whether DSP did it or someone else did it.

As long as adrenaline-pumping BGM is delivered, the audience is least bothered about DSP. For the first part, it’s not like DSP delivered a great BGM. The songs worked, but he didn’t even provide a BGM that’s audible in many scenes.

But much depends on director Sukumar to ensure these new composers understand his vision for the film and extract the best from them, as they aren’t familiar with Pushpa 2.

It’s an interesting case, and we will only know the outcome once the film is released.
