In the context of Telugu movie exhibitors demanding a percentage-based revenue model instead of the rental system, Exhibitors held their first crucial meeting today at the Film Chamber in Hyderabad.
In today’s meeting, the main agenda was that if producers are not willing to agree, the exhibitors have decided to go on a bandh starting June 1st.

Dil Raju and Suresh Babu attended the meeting, while Suniel Narang was absent. However, Sadanand Goud and Sridhar attended on his behalf.
The attendance from Exhibitors is not that great. There was one representative from East, one buyer from Vizag, one from Ongole, and three representatives from Krishna.

Exhibitors will be giving a representation to the Chamber and that will be forwarded to the Producers. A joint meeting may be held in a few days. The Exhibitors are keen to finish all this by this month-end.
If their demand of Percentage system is not met with, they are planning to close the theaters from June 1st.

Sources close to M9 News tell us that Dil Raju and Suresh Babu agreed to lead this movement on the behalf of the Exhibitors.
Suniel Narang tactically gave this meeting a skip as he is worried that Active Producers who are opposing this system will give their film distribution rights to Mythri. But he still sent his representatives to the meeting.
Major releases – Bhairavam, Thug Life, Hari Hara Veeramallu, Kubera, and Kannappa are lined up for June release. This is the time theaters will get good feeding. It will be a loss-loss situation to both the Exhibitors and Producers if the issue is not addressed.
