Usually, when a hero delivers a hit film, his fans, want the sequel to happen at the earliest. However, it is the exact opposite in the case of NTR and his Devara.
After a rather modest and arguably decent product in the form of Devara, which had a rather timid ending to create space for sequel, not many fans shows any interest in the second part.

In fact, many of NTR’s fans even posted on social media that he must avoid the sequel and work on some other better project. But it appears that NTR is fully committed to this idea, and he is indeed planning to make it happen at the earliest.
This can be understood if we look at the way NTRS promoting this film in Japan, some six months after the release in India. It isn’t like NTR is going on a customary or a namesake promotion either. He is going absolutely all out about the same.

This could very well be an indication that NTR is valuing Devara, more than what fans were expecting. At this rate, it must not be too much of a surprise if he actually goes ahead with the idea of the sequel, which looked very unlikely immediately after the release of the first part.
If at all this film gain any momentum in the Japanese market, then there is a very good chance that NTR might be instigated to start the sequel with Koratala Siva.

It is a fact that Devara is a decent film on his own, but a lot more is expected from NTR after RRR. For example, we have the film with Prashanth Neel which is going to be a sensation. This is the kind of stuff that is expected from NTR rather than a mediocre Devara.
But nevertheless, it is the decision of NTR that matters here, and he appears to be fully committed for this sequel, which means that it could very well be happening, no matter what other people have to say.
But again, the responsibility is firmly on Siva to come up with a far better writing work for the sequel, if at all it happens. There can be no shallow patches like the ones we saw in the first part. He must cover every base in terms of visual composition, writing and technical skills.
