The police department’s Special Operation Team (SOT) arrested popular choreographer Shaik Jani aka Jani Master in Goa earlier today.

A few days ago, a 21-year-old woman filed a complaint against Jani alleging that he had been sexually assaulting her over the past few years. She accused him of sexually harassing her multiple times at her residence in Narsingi.
The victim was an assistant choreographer under Jani. She filed her complaint at Raidurgam Police Station. Raidurgam police registered zero FIR and transferred the case to Narsingi Police Station.

Upon receiving the complaint, Narsingi Police registered the complaint and started the investigation. As the victim claimed that she had been facing sexual harassment from Jani since the days she was a minor, the police charged Jani Master under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Jani Master had been on the run for several days. The police eventually tracked him down in Goa and arrested him. He is being transferred to Hyderabad and will be produced at Upparpally court later today. He is expected to be put under remand tomorrow.
