Jr NTR’s proposed film with Vetrimaaran had been in the news for a long time now and Tarak himself pointed out about the same in a press meet in Chennai last night. He referred to Vetri as his “Favorite director”.

While Vetrimaaran might be a favorite director for NTR by choice, an actual collaboration with the filmmaker might not entirely be feasible.
It is true that Vetrimaaran is one of the gifted filmmakers of this generation and he has a lot going for him in Tamil cinema. But the kind of films he has been making cater entirely to the Tamil population. They are mostly based on oppression which connects only with the Tamil folk.

A small section of Telugu audience also love Vetri but the volume is not sufficient enough for a mass hero like NTR to risk it.
Moreover, NTR’s mass fandom expects commercial packaging of his films and Vetri isn’t necessarily accustomed to this. Adding to that, the pan-Indian prospects of Vetri are very low as his films haven’t worked outside Tamil Nadu.

NTR might have a creative craving to work with Vetri but in terms of box office markets and trade aspect, the film with Vetri is not economically or professionally feasible for him at this point in time.
