Even in spite of its record breaking collections the buzz around Kalki 2898 AD film franchise has come down significantly. With its upcoming world television premiere too there hasn’t been a lot of talk, the part 2 is also under works as per sources but the fate of the sequel seems dicey.
Deepika recently talked about her character of Sumati and its probable fate further in the franchise. For her Sumati is strong and vulnerable at once and she might explore those aspects in future, and the rare blend of Indian mythology and VFX is what makes it a truly unique character.

However, fans argue that her character mostly depends on saving by Prabhas’ character. She is really dark and dull in the film, the real “Deepika charm” is majorly lacking.
The interest for the second part of Kalki 2898AD is comparatively low. But her fans want makers to give Deepika a stronger role this time.

Just like most big budgeted films have an eye candy female lead, Sumati’s fate should not be the same. She needs her own strong presence and meaningful storyline.
