Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning started off really well at the Indian box office with strong collections over the weekend.
The film opened with 16.50 crore on Saturday and followed it up with 17.00 crore on Sunday. However, the weekday numbers have seen a sharp decline, raising concerns over its overall box-office run in India.

The collections dropped significantly on Monday and Tuesday, with Day 3 (Monday) bringing in 5.50 crore and Day 4 (Tuesday) at 5.25 crore. This takes the film’s total to 44.25 crore net in four days.
Unless the second weekend sees a major turnaround, Mission Impossible 8 may struggle to reach even 80 crores in lifetime business, which would be a big fall from the 120 crores net that Mission Impossible 7 earned in India.

Audience expectations were sky-high after the previous installment set the stage for a thrilling finale. But instead of high-octane action and suspense, what viewers got was a slow-moving, talk-heavy film.
Many found it to be the weakest entry in the franchise. Critics and audiences pointed out the following issues:

. Excessive dialogue with minimal action
. Characters explaining everything directly to the audience instead of interacting naturally
. A slow and dragged-out ocean sequence in the second half
. A lackluster climax that lacked tension or payoff
. Surprisingly, the iconic Mission Impossible theme is mostly missing from key sequences
. Tom Cruise’s performance also drew mixed reactions. This time he seemed tired, and the spark that defined Ethan Hunt was missing. Many felt he was far better in Top Gun: Maverick.
These reasons made sure, MI 8 didn’t live up to the box office expectations.
In contrast, Final Destination: Bloodlines (Final Destination 6) is showing strong hold at the box office. The horror-thriller has recorded a solid trend, with collections nearing 27.50 crore in six days.
It has already become the highest-grossing film of the franchise in India and continues to perform well, especially in metro cities and night shows.
While Tom Cruise’s high-octane action film is facing a tough road ahead, Final Destination: Bloodlines is emerging as the surprise success among Hollywood releases this season.
