Nithiin is currently busy promoting Robinhood, but he seems even more excited about his next film, Yellamma, directed by Balagam fame Venu Yeldandi. He has been hyping the film as something beyond expectations and a guaranteed blockbuster.

Yellamma was initially offered to Nani, who liked the script but couldn’t take it up due to prior commitments and remuneration concerns. Later, Teja Sajja was considered, but he too showed no interest. Finally, the project landed in Nithiin’s hands, and he immediately gave the nod.

Sai Pallavi was the first choice for the female lead, given her preference for rooted stories like Virata Parvam and Thandel. However, despite Yellamma being a heroine-centric film, she declined the offer due to scheduling conflicts.

The makers then approached Keerthy Suresh, who reportedly responded positively. If confirmed, this would mark her second collaboration with Nithiin after Rang De, which was a decent movie but not very successful at the box office.

Produced by Dil Raju with a 40 crores budget, Yellamma is expected to be another content-driven film from Venu, following the massive success of Balagam, which was made on a 4-crore budget but earned around 50 crores across theatrical, OTT, and satellite deals.
