It is more or less a customary tradition for Venkatesh Daggubati to have a new theatrical outing every Sankranti season. He did the same last year with Saindhav, but this film backfired badly.
However, in just a matter of a year, Venkatesh has made a grand comeback during the usually lucrative Sankranti season.

After having delivered an epic disaster with Saindhav, last Sankranti, Venkatesh is back with Sankranthiki Vasthunam now, this year. This new entertainer has opened to moderate reviews but it’s certainly going to set the box office on absolute fire.
This Venky and Anil Ravipudi film is clearly a favourite for the family audience this festival season. The hourly booking trends in Book My Show are also largely in favor of the Venky starrer.

The clear favorite for the family folk this Sankranthi season is Sankranthiki Vasthunam, followed by Daaku Maharaaj and Game Changer. This order is compiled based on the hourly booking trends that are being observed on BookMyShow statistics.
Coming to Venkatesh himself, what he delivered last year with Saindhav was a huge debacle. It was the worst possible option for him to take as the film wasn’t even recognized by the audience.

The audience clearly want only Sankranthi entertainment from Venky and it is evident if we look at the way Saindhav got rejected and Sankranthiki Vasthunam is getting lapped up.
There’s no doubting the fact that working on Saindhav was a largely detrimental call from Venky and luckily, he rectified the same this year with the Anil Ravipudi film. This will get further validated once the final box office collections of Sankranthiki Vasthunam emerge.
