The sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD, featuring Prabhas, is one of the biggest Hindi-language releases of 2024.
Directed by Nag Ashwin, the film grossed around 275 crores net at the box office in the Hindi dubbed version, marking it as the second-largest hit of the year.

Despite its strong theatrical success, Kalki’s performance on Netflix has been pretty bad. After being sold to the platform for a hefty 175 crores, its viewership began promisingly with 4.5 million views in its opening weekend.
However, by the second week, the views dropped to 2.6 million, and further dipped to just 900K in the third week, even lower than Akshay Kumar’s box office disaster Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’s third-week figures of 1.6 million.

After 17 days, the total viewership stands at 8 million, and it is projected to leave Netflix’s Top 10 chart soon, likely remaining under 10 million total views.
This underwhelming reception on Netflix is surprising given the massive expectations and investment in the film, making it one of the lowest-performing blockbusters on the platform’s Top 10 chart.
