In a surprising yet exciting development, Abhishek Bachchan is set to headline a gritty action thriller directed by Shanmukha Gowtham Ghantasala — a long-time associate of Sandeep Reddy Vanga.
Having worked closely on Arjun Reddy, Kabir Singh, and Animal, Gowtham is now making his independent directorial debut with this intense, character-driven film.

According to Himesh Mankad of Pink Villa, Abhishek will be seen in a never-before avatar — playing a butcher.
The role is said to be raw, violent, and far from the typical commercial format. It’s being positioned as a bold move that could redefine his on-screen image.

The film will be produced by People Media Factory, continuing their expansion into the Hindi market after backing the successful film Jaat starring Sunny Deol.
The project is expected to go on floors by the end of 2025, with supporting cast discussions currently in progress.

Interestingly, comparisons are already being drawn to Ranbir Kapoor’s “Aziz” butcher look in Animal’s post-credit scene. Insiders suggest Abhishek’s transformation might follow a similarly rugged template — grounded, intense, and stylized.
Meanwhile, Abhishek is currently shooting King alongside Shah Rukh Khan, where he plays the villain. He’s also in talks for a project with Dinesh Vijan.
However, this untitled action thriller is likely to become one of the most defining roles of his career — offering him a chance to break new ground like Animal did to Ranbir Kapoor.
