Prithviraj Praises Mohanlal

Prithviraj’s recent praise for Mohanlal’s dedication to performing his own stunts has unexpectedly sparked discussions in Tollywood circles.

While promoting L2: Empuraan, Prithviraj highlighted Mohanlal’s commitment to doing action sequences without relying on body doubles or face replacements.

He even encouraged viewers to pause and examine scenes on OTT platforms to confirm that every stunt was genuinely performed by Mohanlal himself.

Although Prithviraj’s remarks seemed heartfelt, some Telugu fans interpreted his comments as a subtle jab at Tollywood stars. Recent Telugu films have faced growing criticism for excessive use of body doubles, especially in action sequences.

For instance, in Adipurush, Salaar, and Kalki 2898 AD, Prabhas’ stunt doubles were noticeably prominent. A making video from Kalki even revealed that an entire fight scene involving Prabhas and Amitabh Bachchan was done by stunt performers.

Likewise, reports suggest that in Devara, NTR’s body double performed the intense interval fight sequence. Even in Pushpa 2, the introductory fight scene was allegedly done by Allu Arjun’s double. Pawan Kalyan’s recent projects have also drawn criticism for heavily relying on stunt doubles.
