In a tragic turn of events, a woman lost her life in a stampede at Sandhya Theatre on RTC X Roads during Allu Arjun’s visit on Thursday for the benefit show of his new film, Pushpa 2: The Rule.

While the woman died, her son is in critical condition and is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Hyderabad. Following the incident, the police filed a case and named Allu Arjun, his security team and the theatre management as accused. The investigation is currently underway.

Meanwhile, the government of Telangana has decided to ban benefit shows for any film from now on. Cinematography Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy made an official announcement about the same this morning.

Many people have welcomed this move as we have witnessed various unfortunate incidents at theatres during benefit shows, re-releases, and actors’ birthday celebrations.

On the other side, a section of people are feeling disappointed as this decision would dent the release day collections of upcoming big films like Game Changer, Hari Hara Veera Mallu, The Raja Saab and OG.
