Telugu Film Chamber Announce TFCC Awards

The Telugu Film Chamber (TFCC) has taken a landmark decision by officially announcing the introduction of annual film awards, set to begin on February 6, 2025, marking the anniversary of Telugu cinema’s inception.

This significant move aims to celebrate the industry’s legacy while recognizing outstanding contributions. Alongside government film awards, TFCC will now have its own set of honors to encourage and inspire artists.

Additionally, a special commemorative flag, designed by veteran writer Paruchuri Gopala Krishna, should be hoisted annually at theaters and the residences of film actors.

This symbolic gesture pays tribute to Telugu cinema’s journey and its impact over the decades.

The date, February 6, was chosen to honor the release of Bhakta Prahlada in 1932, the first-ever Telugu film.

The Telugu film industry, commonly referred to as Tollywood, has grown tremendously in recent years, with movies like Baahubali, RRR, and Pushpa: The Rule achieving international fame.
