Akkineni Naga Chaitanya is in great need of commercial success at the box office and he pinned a lot of hopes on his latest film, Thandel which released yesterday, February 7.
Coming to the box office opening of Thandel on the opening day, it has reported career best numbers for Chaitanya.

The film opened in the range of Rs 18 crore worldwide and this is the career highest opening for Naga Chaitanya by a fair margin. The film mainly opened particularly well in the Andhra Pradesh belt with nearly Rs 5 crore opening here.
The trend in nizam is also pretty positive with another Rs 5 crore gross here.

The start in the United States has been a slow one, despite the combination factor of Chay and Sai Pallavi. It has collected $135K till now. This is a relatively slow start at the box office.
The booking trends over the last evening and night shows were pretty positive in the Hyderabad area and urbane pockets. If the momentum is sustained over the weekend, then things could get positive.

A lot will depend on the way the film holds the momentum over the next couple of days.
Allu Aravind had confidently said this is going to be the highest grossing film in the career of Naga Chaitanya and the opening trajectory had been a fairly positive one.
