Over the years, the economy fans had been patiently and hopefully waiting for the first hundred crore film in their family. But things were not looking very positive as neither of the Akkineni heroes could deliver a substantial film to reach this mark.

However, this long wait is finally coming to an end with the latest theatrical outing of Akkineni Naga Chaitanya. His latest film Thandel is going absolutely well at the box office, and the same has been communicated by the makers.
According to the statement issued by the makers, this film has collected over ₹62 crore gross at the worldwide box office in the opening three-day weekend. A related poster was released to publicise the same.

If we go by this number, then it could be easily understood that this Naga Chaitanya film is holding its own at the box office. The start at the box office over the opening weekend has been a pretty consistent one with the film reporting over Rs 20 crore gross everyday over the first three days.
According to the makers, the film didn’t have any sort of drops in collections over the weekend which is a positive sign that the film is holding well in theatres.

At this rate, the film will easily reach the Rs 100 crore gross mark at the global box office. This will be the first mainstream 100 crore film for the Akkineni family, and Chaitanya will be the Hero to do the honours.
Earlier, Nagarjuna was seen in a brief role in Brahmastra which did over 300 crore but this can’t be credited in Nag’s account. So, essentially speaking, it is Chaitanya who is opening the Rs 100 crore market for the Akkineni family.
Akkineni fans had gone through a lot in recent years with bad track record of their heroes. But they can now rejoice the significant box office achievement of Chay. Working with a reputed production house like GA2 Pictures comes with its own benefits and the same are being reaped by Chay now.
