Recently Pinkvilla conducted a poll on social media where fans were asked, “Who are you rooting for in #War2?”

The results were a shocker for most. Jr NTR had 74-77% votes while Hrithik Roshan had 23-26% votes.
This created a meme wave and jokes on the internet with some commenting, “Gajab bejjati hai yaar Hrithik ko side hero bana diya hai” shocked that Hrithik is being sidelined.

But we need to remember that online polls are not a reflection of real world popularity or box office numbers. Social media is ruled by extremely active fan groups and sometimes even bots which alter the results of polls.
Most Hrithik fans might not be vocal on social media but they are felt big time in cinemas. Hrithik Roshan’s popularity in North India is huge and his performance in War 1 was appreciated—his screen presence and charm is unbeatable.

On the other hand Jr NTR’s massive fan base from South has left its mark online showing the growing pan India popularity of South stars.
But the real test will be after War 2 releases. Both stars have their own huge fan base and the box office numbers will finally be decided by how the audience reacts in theatres and not in social media poll
