Indian 2, or Bharateeyudu 2, U.S. premieres will begin in a few hours, and there is no doubt that the first part is a truly memorable film in every sense.
Some films just work at the box office because of star power despite average content, but they don’t linger in public memory for long. However, Indian (first part) is a film that is still remembered for its drama, action, performances, music, and most importantly, its emotion.

There is no doubt that it is a huge risk to make a sequel as the expectations are unimaginably high, and director Shankar will have to bear the blame for its results.
Setting aside the buzz for the film, there is a section of the audience genuinely rooting for the sequel, Indian 2 (Bharateeyudu 2), because for them, it’s a memory, a nostalgia, especially for 90s kids in Telugu who grew up watching director Shankar’s movies.

A lot has changed since the first part of Indian was released in 1996. Now, in 2024, we have to see how Shankar will meet the expectations and satisfy these fans and new-generation kids who haven’t experienced the cult film in theaters back in 1996.
