Prabhas Avoiding Prashanth Neel

Sequels have become a huge trend in Indian cinema, especially in Tollywood. Earlier, Telugu films rarely had sequels.

Directors like Ram Gopal Varma tried experimenting with films like Money Money and Satya 2, but those efforts didn’t really work.

Then came Baahubali, which changed everything. It raised the bar and made sequels a mainstream formula—not just in Telugu, but across Indian cinema.

Today, top stars are ready to wait years for sequels. Yash took a long break to deliver KGF 2. Allu Arjun has already spent five years on Pushpa 1 and 2.

Thankfully, both paid off. But interestingly, Prabhas seems to be avoiding the sequel wave.

There’s still no clarity on when Salaar 2: Shauryanga Parvam will begin. While the rest of the team appears enthusiastic, Prabhas doesn’t seem to be in a hurry. He’s more interested in new stories and fresh collaborations.

Director Nag Ashwin is also busy completing the script for Kalki 2, but again, the decision depends on Prabhas’ schedule.

The Raja Saab is also a standalone film. His upcoming projects with Prashanth Varma and Sandeep Reddy Vanga are also single-part stories.

This approach means fans get to see Prabhas in a variety of roles and genres.

Had he committed fully to Salaar 2, other exciting projects might have been delayed—especially since director Prashanth Neel is known for his intense working style.

Prabhas already gave five years to Baahubali and doesn’t seem keen on repeating that process.

He appears happy to break away from franchise pressure and let go of sequels, even if fans forget about them. And honestly, he seems completely okay with that.

Prabhas’ next sequel might not arrive until more than 10 years after Baahubali 2.
