Venkata Reddy is accused of engaging in multiple irregularities related to sand mining, sales, tenders, and contracts during the YSRCP government’s tenure, leading to significant financial losses for the public exchequer.

Allegations suggest that Venkata Reddy, following the directives of YSRCP leaders, provided undue benefits to private companies. This has led to his suspension by the Andhra Pradesh government on August 1st. The ACB, having already confirmed various violations and irregularities in mining lease allocations and the finalization of sand tenders, is now examining the relevant documents and files.

One notable point of concern is how Venkata Reddy issued a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to Jaypee Power Ventures, despite the company owing approximately Rs.800 crores to the government. Additionally, the ACB is investigating the submission of false affidavits to the Supreme Court, High Court, and the National Green Tribunal (NGT).

Venkata Reddy, who is scheduled to retire on August 31st, is currently under suspension and thus unable to retire. However, he has been absconding for the past two months, evading authorities even when they attempted to serve suspension notices at his residential addresses.
