Revanth Reddy Telangana

Since coming to power, CM Revanth Reddy has shown increased aggression in Telangana. Despite KCR’s efforts to communicate and meet with the MLAs daily, he has been unable to stop the migration of BRS MLAs to Congress.

Revanth Reddy is discreetly managing this recruitment with a firm strategy. Harish Rao recently commented that Congress will only face internal conflicts over seats during the elections. Interestingly, there is little resistance from losing Congress nominees in their segments as BRS MLAs join.

The AP Reorganization Act of 2013 is a key factor behind this. According to the act, the assembly seats of the two Telugu states will increase by 2026. Telangana’s assembly seats will rise to 153, while Andhra Pradesh’s will increase to 225.

Apart from Jagithyal, there is no resistance in Congress segments. Revanth’s strategy involves anticipating the redistribution of assembly seats based on population representation in 2026. Most new seats will likely be in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) areas.

Currently, there are 24 seats in the Greater Region, but this number could reach 54. It’s predicted that the party securing more seats in Greater Hyderabad will hold significant power in the state.

This is why Revanth Reddy is focusing heavily on urban areas. Initiatives like beautifying the Musi River and integrating all municipalities within the Outer Ring Road (ORR) into Greater Hyderabad are part of his strategy to consolidate power in the future.
