In the recently concluded Assembly elections, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s YSR Congress is reduced to just eleven seats in the 175 seats AP Assembly.

YSR Congress slipped below Pawan Kalyan’s Janasena Party which got 21 seats.

A party needs to get at least 18 MLA seats to become the Principal Opposition.

The Principal Opposition will get to sit in the Opposition Benches just beside the Treasury Benches in the Assembly and its leader will enjoy the Cabinet Rank as the Opposition Leader in the House.

The Opposition leaders get second preference to speak in the house after the Leader of the House (the Chief Minister).

YSR Congress’s Eleven Seats mean there is no Opposition in the House technically.

The Speaker need not allow them to sit in the Opposition Benches.

If the Speaker strictly go by the rule book, YSR Congress MLAs should be seated in the Back Benches.

It is now up to the Speaker to allow Jagan to sit at the front despite having no eligibility or send him to the last bench.

If Chandrababu wants to humiliate Jagan, YSR Congress may have to sit back in the house.

Jagan used to humiliate Chandrababu saying TDP just got 23 MLAs in 2019. He is now reduced to half of that.
