Bhogapuram Airport Available in 15 Months?

It’s good news for people of Uttarandhra. The Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu is personally overseeing the construction works going on at Bhogapuram Airport.

The Airport is crucial for the development of Uttarandhra region. Hence, the CM is ensuring that the works get completed soon. If the pace remains the same, the Airport will be completed in 15 months.

Due to accelerated pace of work, the Airport will be available from June, 2026, instead of December, 2026. As of now, 97% of runway is complete, 92% of the taxiway, 60% of the terminal building, 72% of air traffic control tower, 43% of ancillary buildings and 37% of the main approach roads, are complete.

VMRDA (Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority) will spend Rs 390 crore to improve connectivity to Bhogapuram Airport. According to VMRDA commissioner, roads will be widened with scenic features and some greenfield roads will be laid.

To promote employment in the region, a skill development center will be set up locally. Training will be provided in airport related activities and other commercial activities.




A Taj Group hotel is also likely to come by the time the airport becomes operational. The interiors of the airport will reflect the rich cultural heritage of the north coastal Andhra Pradesh.
