It is a different vibe altogether in Andhra Pradesh for Sankranthi. There will be a festive atmosphere everywhere.

Going to the Villages, Celebrating Together, Films, Cock Fights, Jalli Kattu (in some places), etc are an integral part of Sankranthi celebrations.

While we save the debate of Animal Cruelty for another day, Blue Media is breaking bangles about Cock Fights happening across the state.

They are churning out stories about how the Government has failed completely in controlling them.

Cock Fights do happen in every Government and all Governments do not try to control them as it is against the Public Sentiment moreover it is just for 4-5 days in the Sankranthi Season.

These Cock Fights happened during Jagan’s regime as well. But in areas where TDP leaders are known for organizing they were cracked down for obvious reasons.

But then, the YSR Congress brought the trend of Casinos to Sankranthi.

How can we forget that Casino organized by Kodali Nani in Gudivada which became a talking point across the Telugu States?

Back then, it was rumored that there had been an exchange of Rs 200-300 crores in the casino which may be higher than the transactions that happened in the Godavari districts this Sankranthi.

Casinos are prohibited in Andhra Pradesh, like in many other states in India, under the Public Gambling Act of 1867.

Despite complaints, the then Government did not even register a case against Nani. Interestingly, TDP Leader Buddha Venkanna was arrested hours after he made comments about Nani on the casino back then.

Illicit things like that are not allowed in the new Government and Probably, the Blue Media is missing those Casinos. That is their real problem.
