Since its inception, the BRS has been recognized for its activist-driven and aggressive politics. During the Telangana movement, BRS displayed a high level of intensity, organizing various rallies and protests until a separate state was achieved. However, that intensity and aggression seem to have faded now.

After losing power, BRS’s political graph has declined to its lowest point. It requires maximum effort from its leadership to revive the party from its current state. However, the party’s chief, KCR went into exile and the working president, KTR, appears not to be making such efforts at all.

The public has been expressing that BRS is failing to capitalize on the mistakes made by the Congress government and is not in a position to offer a strong opposition.

Yesterday, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi visited Hyderabad. While BRS supporters created a big buzz on social media with various posts and trolls, there was no attempt to stage a protest during Rahul’s visit.

Supporters of BRS on social media questioned why the party didn’t protest during Rahul Gandhi’s arrival to demand answers on unfulfilled promises, and ongoing student and police protests. They further asked why there were no rallies or displays with black clothing or black flags.

Such actions were common for BRS in the past, especially during the intense Telangana movement. Many of these supporters were part of that aggression and thus, they are now questioning where that fire has gone.

They feel that KCR was able to keep people unified and organized rallies and protests effectively in the past. Now, it is rumoured that party leaders believe KTR lacks similar leadership qualities. They feel that the party is unable to counter Congress with the same vigour.

There is a sense that BRS might be hoping anti-incumbency will secure them a win in the next elections, but supporters argue that this is unlikely. They are urging KTR to be proactive and to restore the party’s aggressive stance without wasting any time.
