
The Telangana police have taken strict action against celebrities promoting betting apps. Recently, cases were filed against 11 celebrities, including TV anchors, YouTubers, and social media influencers.
Popular names like Vishnupriya, Anchor Syamala, Tasty Teja, and Imran Khan (Pareshaan Boys) are among those booked. They face charges under Sections 318(4) BNS, 3, 3(A), 4 TSGA, and 66D ITA Act-2008.

In recent weeks, several Telugu TV celebrities released videos discouraging betting apps, acknowledging their past mistakes in promoting such platforms.
Personalities like Surekha Vani, her daughter Supritha, Ritu Chaudhary, and Getup Srinu were part of this awareness campaign. They apologized for their past involvement, claiming they unknowingly promoted these apps.

The campaign was initiated by Telangana RTC MD Sajjanar, encouraging these celebrities to spread awareness. However, their sudden shift from promoting betting apps to apologizing has drawn heavy backlash.
