From losing both his seats in 2019, Pawan Kalyan has become the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh today. Earlier this week, Chandrababu Naidu had decided to take Pawan Kalyan’s Brother, Naga Babu into his cabinet.
All of sudden, there are two Mega family members in active politics. Meanwhile, there are rumors that the BJP may nominate Megastar Chiranjeevi to Rajya Sabha. It was the Narendra Modi government that bestowed Padma Vibhushan, the second highest civilian honor to Chiranjeevi earlier this year.

If this happens, there will be a significant Kapu polarization in Andhra Pradesh Political Turf like never before.
The Kapu Community forms about 15% of the total population of Andhra Pradesh. The community always aspired to be a part of the ruling class but never got a chance.

They harbored a hope for Vangaveeti Ranga but that did not happen.
Later, when Chiranjeevi floated Praja Rajyam Party in 2009, they thought it was their best chance but the party could manage only 16.32% Vote Share and Chiranjeevi could not last five years. He merged the party into Congress and went to Rajya Sabha. He retired from politics after the expiry of his term.

Pawan Kalyan started Janasena in 2014 but did not contest. He supported the TDP and the BJP in that election.
The community did not give a chance to Pawan Kalyan in 2019 too. They thought Janasena has no chance and did not vote. As a result, Janasena could only win one seat and Pawan Kalyan himself lost both the seats.
However, the community smelled a chance when Pawan Kalyan allied with TDP in 2024. It was then, they believed Janasena has a chance. As a result, Janasena could win 21/21 Assembly seats and 3/3 MP seats.
It was a dream result for the Janasena. Chandrababu Naidu is also giving utmost importance to Pawan Kalyan making him Deputy CM and giving him important Portfolios. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also praised Pawan Kalyan on couple of occasions.
The Kapu community feels this is an unimaginable respect for the community.
Respect is like Dopamine for a Community’s Pride. The more you get, the more you want!
If along with Pawan Kalyan and Naga Babu, Chiranjeevi also get into politics, the community will begin aspiring for the highest power.
This may change the equations in AP Politics. However, change of equations do not necessarily lead to good results.
