The Government of India has terminated RP Gupta, Chairman and Managing Director of the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI). While the Government did not give any reasons public about the termination, speculations are on about many things.

Citing Sources, Economic Times speculated that dismissal follows allegations of procedural lapses under Gupta’s leadership, specifically, the clearance of Reliance Power’s participation in a major tender using forged documents.

Citing another set of sources, Eenadu wrote a story that the dismissal is because of the allegations that came in the Power Purchase Deal between the then Jagan Government and SECI.

Even though it was a deal between the Government and SECI, the actual beneficiary was Adani Power. The Power was purchased at a higher price, and those in power received kickbacks.

These allegations were not made by the opposition parties but by the US Department of Justice.

The US Department of Justice charged that a “high-ranking official of the state government” was offered bribes of ₹1,750 crore from Adani Group to sign a solar power supply deal in 2021. Jagan Mohan Reddy was the chief minister during this period.

Eenadu says the dismissal is also because of this deal.

Sakshi and the YSR Congress Social Media are attacking Eenadu, posting a screenshot of the Economic Times Story.

They say Eenadu’s story is fake, while the real reason is the one published in the Economic Times.

The fact is that the Government of India did not reveal any reason, and both Eenadu and Economic Times speculated on the reasons.

In fact, along with these two, there are a few more allegations against RP Gupta. The dismissal is because of all these allegations.

In these stories, neither Eenadu nor Economic Times is right or wrong.

YSRCP Ecosystem is propagating that the Economic Times Story is right, and so, Eenadu’s version is wrong.

Both the Media Houses speculated on the reasons, and so, there is no issue of right or wrong.

“It is a joke that YSR Congress ecosystem is giving Journalism Lessons to Eenadu. Sakshi is a blot on Journalism. Sakshi is not a Newspaper, it is a Party Pamphlet. It is a joke they are preaching about Journalism,” TDP Supporters are taunting.
