The sibling war between YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and his sister YS Sharmila has been making it to the headlines over the last few days. Everyone has a say in it and there are multiple versions floating around, to convey that the gap between the two is very deep.
Many people feel that the gap between Jagan and Sharmila is intentionally created by Jagan’s close aides Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy and Vijaya Sai Reddy, fearing that Sharmila’s presence would mean they would not be given prominence by Jagan. Even Sharmila’s husband Brother Anil Kumar voiced the same opinion.

Speaking in a recent interview, Anil Kumar explained the situation of how YS Sharmila had to embark on the Padayatra journey when Jagan was in jail. He said that on the request of Bharathi, Sharmila took up the responsibility of gathering public support, eventually resulting in bringing sympathy towards YS Jagan when he was in jail.
Anil Kumar says, “The gap between them is created intentionally. Sajjala Ramakrishna once told Jagan that the party had been taken over by Sharmila and it does not belong to Jagan anymore. Slowly, these differences popped up and Bharathi also asked Sharmila once the same.” He stated that had Sharmila been given the importance of the party, she would have remained the number two in the party.

The political commentators also say that the leaders like Sajjala and Vijay Sai intentionally distanced Jagan and Sharmila, so that they will have more prominence in the party. They opined that Sharmila would have been number two if she was in the party and would have been accessible to everyone who couldn’t meet Jagan. In that instance, no one would care about Sajjala or Vijayasai Reddy.
They said that is the reason why Sajjala and Vijayasai might have played their part in distancing Jagan and Sharmila for their own benefit. They further opined that the duo might have also distanced Jagan from the likes of Undavalli Arun Kumar and KVP Rama Chandra Rao to have their influence in the party.
