India and Pakistan announced the ceasefire the other day. US President Donald Trump had announced that he mediated between the two countries and congratulated them on the common sense and greater intelligence.
People across the country are shocked by the sudden announcement. They are unhappy about agreeing to the ceasefire when there is a good chance that India can bring Pakistan to its knees.

Firstly, there are people who think avoiding a war is always good because of the casualties, injuries, and destruction that a war would result always.
Also, the entire world is at the edge of a Global Recession. War would put enormous pressure on the economy at this time. So, some people think avoiding a war is good at all costs.

But then, the percentage of these people is currently lower.
The US may have threatened India with economic sanctions. The Trump administration is already in a tussle with China over the Reciprocal Tariffs. Maybe the Government thought it was important to fill the void China is creating in the economic sphere, and for that to happen, it has to be on good terms with the US Government.
Most people feel the Modi Government has committed a historic mistake by letting Pakistan off the hook.
Due to the same economic slowdown globally, these people believe Pakistan is in the most vulnerable state right now.
The country can not afford to invest in war because it has numerous other problems at home.
People feel Pakistan would have surrendered if the pressure had been on.
But then, the Narendra Modi Government blinked before that.
Now they believe Pakistan would have enough time to regroup and revitalize all the Terror Groups.
Also, the Terror Groups would definitely plan something big as revenge for the Operation Sindoor that killed at least a hundred militants, including the family members of Jaish-e-Mohammed Chief Masood Azhar.
So the people were unable to digest the fact that the Government accepted the proposal of a Ceasefire without any conditions.
The fact that the Government’s failure to stop the One Billion dollar IMF Bailout to Pakistan also irked them.
The final nail in the coffin came when Pak Prime Minister claimed victory in the war and when the Pakistan Army violated the ceasefire agreement just a couple of hours after the announcement.
The people are completely unhappy and angry with the Government. It has to be seen if Modi will approach the issue differently from here.
