
The richest MLA in India happens to be Parag Shah from BJP, Maharashtra. He represents the Ghatkopar East constituency. A survey by Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) found this information.
The body does a survey of the assets, criminal background if any and political background of people’s representatives.

Second in the list was Karnataka’s DK Shivakumar. He has assets worth Rs 1413 crore according to ADR. On the other hand, the poorest MLA Nirmal Kumar Dhara was from West Bengal, from the BJP with assets worth Rs 1700.
ADR took into account the affidavits submitted by the MLA candidates prior to elections. ADR took up the survey of 4092 MLAs from 28 states and 3 union territories. It looked into the political background and criminal cases.

It could not consider 24 MLAs as the papers submitted were not scanned properly. Also, 7 seats are vacant.
